Take a girl child to work day

Ditsong Museums of South Africa(DMSA) are proud to host 20 school girls during the the 15th anniversary of Cell C’s Take A Girl Child To Work Day on May 25th 2017.

It is for the first time DMSA participate in this annual corporate social investment initiative that is held across South Africa and exposes grade 10 to 12 learners to the workplace.


This year we have invited 20 pupils from Prencifield High School to spend the day with us. The learners were introduced to the following departments Archealogy, Public Programmes,Library Human Resourses, Finance, Supplier Chain and Marketing Departments under the mentoship of Teresa Kearney, Getrude Seabela, Bongi Legwase,Mariet Conradie,Matsiliso Gumbi,Norah Ntamele, Tebogo Senyoko, Lucia Kutumela and Tebogo Kgari.


The Girls were shown different departments and museums daily operations.

At DMSA we are commited to fostering gender equality and the empowerment of Women through education. Cell C’s take a Girl Child to Work Day statistics show that this day has profound effect on the girls with many choosing a career based on their day in the workplace.

We are delighted to have taken part in this life altering initiative for young woman.
